QR Code Reader

Scan a QR code from an image, screenshot, or your camera and see what it contains — links, Wi-Fi passwords, contacts, and more. Decoding runs entirely in your browser, so your image is never uploaded.

How to read a QR code online

  1. Upload a photo or screenshot (click the box or drag & drop), paste an image with Ctrl+V / ⌘V, or press Scan with camera on your phone or laptop.
  2. The reader finds the QR code, outlines it on the preview, and decodes the content.
  3. Review the parsed details, copy the text or individual fields, and open links only after checking the domain.

Scan safely

QR codes are a common phishing vector ("quishing"): a sticker over a parking meter or a QR in an email can point anywhere. This reader never opens links automatically. It shows the real domain first and warns about unencrypted http:// links, URL shorteners that hide the destination, embedded credentials, and punycode look-alike domains. Authenticator (otpauth) codes contain a secret key, so treat those images like a password.

Need to create one instead? Use the QR Code Generator to make a styled QR code for a URL or text and download it as PNG or SVG. To inspect or convert the image file itself, try the Image Toolkit.
