Q: What is lost when converting 3MF to STL?

STL stores only triangles. Object names, separate parts, colors and materials, textures, plates, supports painted in the slicer and print settings are not kept. Geometry, object positions and scale are preserved in millimeters.

Q: Can I export one object from a multi-object 3MF?

Yes. Click the object in the 3D view or the object list, switch the export scope to Selected, then download the STL. Shift-click to export several objects together.

Q: Does it work with Bambu Studio and PrusaSlicer project files?

Yes. Their 3MF projects keep meshes in separate model files referenced from the main model; the converter follows those references, applies each part's transform, and skips objects marked as not printable.

Q: Which units does the STL use?

Millimeters. 3MF files in microns, centimeters, inches, feet or meters are converted to millimeters, which is what slicers expect from an STL.

Q: Are my files uploaded?

No. Files are read and processed by JavaScript in your browser tab, and downloads are generated locally. Nothing is sent to a server, so it also works with private or unreleased designs.
