Text & Logo to STL Extruder

High-contrast artwork with clear edges: logos, icons, silhouettes, signatures, line drawings and text, ideally on a plain or transparent background. Photos have soft gradients rather than outlines; use the lithophane and relief maker for those.

The image is converted to grayscale (or its transparency is used), lightly smoothed, and split at the threshold. Marching squares traces the boundary with sub-pixel accuracy, the outline is simplified, and holes such as the inside of an O are found automatically before the shape is triangulated and extruded.

Enable the backing plate, set a margin and corner radius, and enter a keyring hole diameter (4–6 mm is typical). The hole is added on the left of the plate. For a two-color print, change filament at the layer where the plate ends.

Turn off the backing plate, tick Mirror so the print comes out the right way round, and use a height of 2–3 mm. Glue the result onto a block or print a handle separately.

No. The image is read and turned into a mesh by JavaScript in your browser tab, and the STL or 3MF is generated locally. Nothing is sent to a server.
